Lisa's meeting with Shane (3rd August 2003)
Heya all!I haven't been online for a while due to this lovely weather keeping me outside getting a tan so excuse me if Ruth has already done this topic and I missed it but on Sunday Me, Ruth (Kianslittleangel), Caz (cant remember username - ooops!!), Hayley, Rochelle and Adele descended on London to hopefully see any of the boys that were still in London recording! We knew Bryan and Mark were the only two at the recording studio on Saturday but I was hoping Shane would be around too on Sunday. It was also a good excuse to sit outside and get a tan!!
I arrived at the hotel about 9.30am which is where I'd arranged to meet everyone (who were all amazingly late!) Imagine my embarassment when Bry came out the hotel and I was chatting to him and getting my pic done with him with none of my mates there! I must have looked a right div but Jake was really nice and even turned my camera sideways to take a pic of me and Bry coz I'm so short and he's so tall!! Bry laughed at me when I said to Jake "Is that cause Bry's about 2 feet taller than me??"
Anyway, in usual Ruth style, she arrived about 2 mins after Bry left but she was cool as she'd seen him on Saturday. We decided to head off down to the recording studio for a while and see if we could find out if anyone was there and whilst sitting there, the rest of my mates turned up! Sat around for a while and went back to the hotel just in time to see Mark come out! Shouted across to him from the car and had a quick wave then went back to the recording studio cause we'd found out Shane was inside!
Anyway, we were entertained by some lovely fireman who let us sit in their engine and film them with the video cam for a while!!! Thanks firemen - you made the wait a lot less boring! Then about 3.30 Mr Filan decided to emerge from the recording studio for pics - half of which are not developed yet from my camera but I did take one of him using my picture phone which I'll put up now! Sorry about it being small but I used my phone to take it!!!
Then Ruth and Adele had this barmy idea of trying to catch up with Shane at Heathrow Airport even though there was loads of traffic and he'd had a 15min head start as we'd sat around watching the footage of Shane on the video camera! So we decided to give it a go anyway as we didn't have nothing better to do! Imagine our surprise walking into terminal 1 and Shane sat at the end of the check in desk all on his own with his luggage!

We went and asked him if he didn't mind us chatting to him for a bit and he didn't, cause he'd missed his flight and couldn't get on the next one as it was full!!! - bless!) So we chatted to him for a bit about the album, the single, his house (which he tells me he's moving into at the end of November!!), his wedding and the Sligo gig the previous weekend! He was very chatty but looked quite tired and kept going over to the ticket desk to try and get on a flight! I had to leave not long after as I had to get home for a bbq but not before I got another pic with Shane!!!
Was a good day tho and can't wait till they are back in town to finish the album and promote the new single!!
