My meeting with the lads - 13th and 14th December 2004

13th December
Ok, let’s start with Monday… we got to the train station at 8.15 to get a train to the airport, bevause the lads would arrive at 9.05.. but then ALL the trains to Amsterdam were delayed coz of what we heard, a fire.. so we had to wait for about 25 minutes, so we were running late… and at 9.40 we finally arrived at the airport.. so we ran into the arrivals and noticed one of the Dublin flights was delayed as well, so we got some hope and ran to the hall.. but no one to be seen.. so we called a friend and she told us they left 2 minutes earlier.. so we missed them by 2 minutes, just coz of that delayed train grr! We were really really gutted and left for the hotel.. we arrived there about 45 minutes later, but no lads.. they stayed in another hotel.. so we went up to that one and waited and waited and waited.. it was freezing, so we were all cold and then about one and a half hours later the lads finally came out, perfectly dressed in suits.. they were in a hurry and were cold.. well Nicky was like ‘brrrr its coooooolllllld’ even though he wasn’t even outside yet, well yeah 3 steps maybe haha. Then Kian and Mark came out and rushed into the waiting cars, and after them Shane.. who was cold as well but was like singing it: ‘It is cold outsiiiiiiideeeeee’ as in My Girl, was funny and well cute. He got into a car as well and they drove off… We decided to go to get something to eat and to warm up a bit.. and after that we went to the venue where the show case was held.. we waited and waited again, for about 2 hours.. then the 2 cars drove past so we all ran after them but they were gone soon after.. we walked up to the SBS studio which was around the corner from the venue but no lads.. then later we got to know they were at a hotel about 100 meter further.. so we waited there for another hour and then the Dutch Popstar guys told us they were still in there! Go them thinking we were waiting for them lol. Then someone was like ‘Ohh that’s Nicky!’ He came downstairs to go to the toilet and waved at us.. not long after that Kian followed, but he walked into the ladies room! Lol! Then there wasn’t a sign of them for mins and it got later and later and my mum told me to be home for dinner, so at 5 o’clock I was like ‘Com’n San we got to go..’ but she was like ‘Just stay a few minutes longer..’ and my other mate didn’t wanna leave either so we stayed for another 10 mins and then suddenly the lads appeared in a room downstairs… so we all got to the window and started waving at them.. Mark was the only who saw us or paid attention to us and waved back and smiled… We were all freezing, so my mate made this little banner thingie saying: ‘hurry up, it’s cold!’ Mark was staring at it for a few minutes, trying to read it, and then laughed! Was so cute! And then finally about 10 minutes later they came out… my mate asked Mark for a hug and he hugged her tight and squeezed her to death lol. Was so sweet, gutted about my camera not working.. they all got in the cars and drove off again.. some people said they went back to their hotel but I was like ‘huh? That can’t be true’ coz Shane said they were off to rehearse for the showcase, and the venue was around the corner but a few minutes later they drove around the venue so we all got to the cars hoping to get some piccies taken. One car drove up to just before the doorway, Nicky and Kian were in that car and loads and loads of people waited there so I decided to wait for the other car and then I saw Shane opening the door.. was like ‘Oh My God!’ he’s soo gorgeous! Some girls asked him for pics, but every time I wanted to ask him someone shove in front of me.. so was like ‘Shane, Shane!’ And gave him my Christmas card for him and Gill.. he looked at the envelope and smiled, going ‘aww thank you very much!’ But I still hadn’t got a pic, so when my mate asked him for a pic I was like ‘I want one too’ and just jumped next to him on the pic lol.. and it turned out amazingggg! I’m absolutely in love with the pic! After that they all went into the venue and we decided to go home.. cold, tired but satisfied!

14th December
We got up at 9.30 to get ready and left my house at 10.20, San slept at mine, so we could be earlier and so that we could stay longer on Monday.. we got to the hotel at about 11.20 but there was noone to be seen. So we thought they’d probs left already. I called a mate of mine and she told me the lads were still in the hotel… they had this interview with a kids programme called ‘Buya’ in the early afternoon. We waited and waited, no sign of the lads.. so we decided to go to McDonald’s to warm up a bit and to get something to eat and drink. After that we decided to go back to the hotel, to see if they’d already finished that interview.. (we could see them through the window.. well the winners, coz we missed the lads there) coz when came back, one of the cars was in front of the hotel again… and some people were in one of the cars, so we thought we were too late, but Kian was the only one was in the car, along with Jake and another girl, which I think was from BMG or something. Then about 2 minutes later Shane and Nicky came out, so we were just in time! San got her pic taken with Nicky… I wanted one as well, but he got into the car quite soon after :( and Shane was on the phone to someone, who turned out to be, of course, who else, lol, Gillian! But again, I was too late to get my pic taken.. and missed out on the autograph as well.. aah! Shane walked around one of the cars to get in, but was told to get into the taxi in front of the car.. so he ran all across the street, Dave running after him lol. Mark stayed at the hotel, coz of an eye infection. They left for some interviews, I think, but later that day they had a chat at Skyradio in Hilversum, so we went to Hilversum as well. We got there just before them, coz they were late as normal. But we didn’t mind hehe.. but since they were late, they were in a hurry so they’d take some more time later, after the chat… but they were in a hurry at that time again, even though they posed for pics and signed some autographs. And again Shane was the one who stayed longest, the sweetheart! He was freezing, jumping up and down coz he was so cold. They got to Noordzeefm then, and some of us went to the airport, to see them leave later that night… they arrived quite soon after the Noordzeefm interview.. but only Shane and Kian… coz Mark was still at the hotel and probs not allowed to fly and Nicky stayed with him, together with Jake. We walked up to Shane (hadn’t seen Kian till we got into the departure hall lol.) to ask for a pic, but he was like ‘let’s go inside, it’s cold’ Jees how many times I’ve heard them say that lol. So we got inside, and San and me got into that swing door thing with him lol… Me whispering to San ‘Nice shoes he’s got!’ lol But said that in Dutch so he didn’t understand, hopefully lol. When we got inside, we took some pics and I got another pic taken with him.. he looks really tired but still glad I got another picture. We waited for them, they were looking at the departing flights.. and then noticed they had missed them.. so sad! They were all annoyed and tired but finally after a lot of hassle, phoning people up and all that, they got some tickets for another flight and left. Shane turned around one last time, smiled at us and waved.. think he was glad we left them alone for a min. So after all.. 2 amazing days to add to the list!
