My meeting with Shane and Gillian (31st March 2005)
Review:30th March (no Gillian yet):
We got up really early on Wednesday to go to the airport.. coz we've heard the lads would arrive there from Copenhagen. We spent like 4 hours there without any luck, no lads. So we decided to go to the hotel and what did we see? Yup, the tourbus! They had already arrived and from what we'd heard we hadn't missed much it was alright for us. We waited and waited and then finally at 2.30 or so we saw Dave walking past with Mark.. he didn't say anything and went straight in. Around 2.45PM Kian and Jodi came out of the hotel to go shopping.. they're lovely together and so in love! Then about half an hour later Shane came out of the tourbus.. with Dave leading him into the hotel. He was kinda moody, probably coz of the huge amount of fans there (about 40) and went straight in as well. Around 5 they all came out again to go to the arena for a sound check.. but didn't take any pictures with fans since 1) they were not in the mood and 2) they were running late as usual. So when they'd left we decided to go to the arena as well. We got there at 6.15 and managed to get 12th row or so, so I'm not complaining about that! The show was fab and my mate got the fright of her life when she saw our Shane picture (from December) on the screens during 'What Makes A Man'!
31st March
Another day.. we went to the hotel around 10, but San had got a text about Jake walking around in the lobby so we had the feeling they were leaving or whatever so we rushed to the hotel in the hope the lads were still there. When we arrived we saw.. nobody! So were quite gutted but then when we walked around the corner there were a few people we knew so we knew they hadn't left. *sigh* And again the waiting and waiting begun. But this time we just sat there for about 4 hours with no sign of the lads at all.. and then suddenly Dave appeared at the side entrance so a few of us decided to see what was happening and yup it was an allurrer coz when we went around the corner Georgina arrived, so we missed her. But she went straight in as well. More waiting started and 3 hours later a taxi pulled up at the main entrance and Sandra was like 'It's a blonde..' She had a better look and 'It's Gillian!' So everyone grabbed their cams and waited till she got out of the taxi. Everyone there knew I loved Gill so they let me take a piccie with her first.. she was all smiley and like 'yeah sure..' her bump is starting to show now.. it's so cute! She really took time for the fans there and I think she loved the attention.. she got loads of presents and stuff. Ten of us Dutchies bought her a basket with loads of stuff for the baby in it and she just loved it! I wasn't abled to give her my pressies coz by the time I got them there were loads of people around Gill asking her things and taking pictures with/of her. Then some hotel staff came out and took her in. After that we heard Kian and Jodi sneaked out of the side entrance when Gill arrived. She told us she was back in 10 minutes coz she had promised a few people pictures. But then it all got manic with Nicky and Georgina coming out first, out of the side entrance.. so I followed them to the bus to take piccies of them and when I came back loads of people were talking about Mark who had escaped via the main entrance at the same time.. so some of them went after him coz they heard he was taking loads of pix with fans. I decided to wait for Shane and Gillian coz I still had them pressies to give them. So then about 10 minutes later they came out as well and I managed to give them my presents.. including a card for the pregnancy which I wrote on behalf of all of you as well! I gave Gillian a frame with a 'certificate' thingie in it and she was reading it on her way to the bus.. I think she liked it since she turned around gave me a lil wave and flashed me a grin! They got escorted to the bus and told everyone they would pose for pix after they got back from shopping and having dinner. So when they'd left me, Sandra and Marita went to grab something to eat and on our way to find something nice we bumped into Mark so we were like 'Hi Mark..' he simply answered 'Hi..' and walked on.. I think he thought we were following him, which we obviously weren't! Then later on on our way back to the tour bus San was like 'Shane and Gillian, Shane and Gillian' just when we were about to cross the street hehe. They saw us but we just walked on coz we didn't wanna disturb them. We watched them for a few mins - they were so cute.. first Shane kissed her head, then they stopped and kissed again.. was so cute! When they were out of sight we headed back to the bus. And again.. nothing happened for the next.. 2 hours.. around 8.15 Shane and Gillian got back from shopping and we waited for them with about 9 people.. we didn't dare to approach them at first but it was fine and they agreed to pose for pictures. That's when a few of us got our Shane and Gillian picture taken. Gillian even took a picture of Shane and a fan.. bless her! She offered it herself! They talked to us for about 2 minutes and walked back to the tourbus, coz Gillian was tired. They posed for a few pictures there and thanked everyone for the lovely presents and got it.. that's were our day ended, a fabulous day may I add
