December 2007:
Kian Egan: "Shane, that reminds me, you actually cried.."
Shane: "I actually did cry. The first I've ever cried in the studio. And I don't mean to be sobby, but I'd been away from Nicole and Gillian for whatever, 10 days. It's more Nicole, because now she's actually, recently she started coming on the phone and talk to me and say 'come home daddy' or 'miss you daddy' and stuff like that"
Mark Feehily: "Where's Mark?"
Shane: "Where's Mark, she's saying to me an awful lot lately. She woke me up this morning and goes 'Daddy, where's Mark?' But anyways, yeah I was in the studio and it was like 12 o'clock at night and I wanted to go home, excuse the pun from the first single, but that song played to me and I was nearly crying when I heard it and I hadn't even recorded it. And I was actually sobbing, sobbing in the studio, and the boys were looking in on me going...."
Mark: "Freak"
Shane: "Freak, but I didn't care, I didn't care though. But lyrically it's one of the best father to son or daughter songs, probably the best, I've ever heard in my life."
- Back Home DVD, November 2007

November 2007: Shane: "She knows daddy's on telly all the time, definitely. She knows I sing songs and stuff. She's actually starting to sing as well, which is scary. I say who's in the band with daddy and she'll say Mark, Kian and Nicky. She sings Home now. She will attempt the whole song, like. I will sing bit of the line and she'll finish it, which is great, It is such a fabulous feeling like. To have a little girl, a little piece of you and your wife together, looking up at you is just amazing." - interview Yorkshire Eveningpost

September 2007: "Gillian is unbelievable, she's always been there for me right from the very start. When you get into a band and people are always looking at you you become very insecure but she has always been there for me and I've never got to a stage where I've been really down about something because she is always there to pick me back up, that's why I am marrying her, she is, in my eyes the perfect girl. She's the one who I want to wake up beside for the next 60 or 70 years, when I'm away from her pieces of my life start falling apart, I'm going to Asia for two and a half weeks soon and I'm not looking forward to being away from her for so long. We've become so close over the past year that even a couple of days apart is torture for us, if the fame ended tomorrow, that would be fine. I'd have an amazing woman and incredible memories to look back on, what more could a guy want?" - Shane, in an exclusive article about the wedding, by I think Paul Martin.

Kian: "Kayne West"
*loads of laughing*
Shane: But I don't care, but it's a great song and the story behind this song is everytime this song is played, Kian has to get up on a table in a nightclub and he dances, and I have to hold him up and he's going a bit like that *makes slamming movements with his hand/arm - which I think Kian calls bouncing* - taken from the "Westlife Hotties' file - about floorfillers

Shane: *laughs* No no, I doubt she'd like that very much. Erm, no I think it was about the number ones, I was talking about the number ones, that we've had and that was 12 at the time, in the singles, and I said 'this is the biggest number one I've ever had'. She's number one in our family, and I said we would have 11 more to go, haha, at the end of it.. the haha was the very important part!'
