"Years ago, I fell over on a load of glass and gilt my arm open. I didn't want stitches because I thought I was fine but when I woke up there was a big gash on my arm!"

What's the most extravagant thing you've bought?
"A helicopter. It costed £300.000. I sold it recently because it was too small."

Have you ever stolen anything?
"I definitely stole money from my parents when I was younger. Probably £5 here or there, but nothing major."

What was your last random act of kindness?
"I gave a fella £20 on the street the other day. He was on the ground looking for money and when I threw him £20, he was delighted."

Have you ever cheated on anyone?
"No."

When did you last use public transport?
"I can't remember but I got on the plane to Birmingham yesterday. Does that count?"

When did you last say: "I love you"?
"To my wife Gillian about half an hour ago over the phone."

What do you most dislike about yourself?
"I suppose the way I stress out about the... [the scan doesn't show the answer so if anyone knows what it says please let me know]

Which celeb do you secretly fancy and why?
"Charlize Theron is pretty cool."

Which celebs do you have on your mobile?
"Louis Walsh. I don't have many celebrity friends."

When was the last time you cried?
"Watching a movie a few weeks ago. It was a love story with Ashton Kutcher and the ending was quite sad. I was watching it on my own as I was away from my wife."

What's the best thing you've blagged?
"We get clothes all the time and I got a four-wheel-drive jeep for a year."

Shane Filan has revealed he and wife Gillian turned down the opportunity to find out the sex of their new baby.

The Westlife star has a child on the way in September.

"We don't know what we're having," Shane said. "We wanted a surprise. We don't mind either way."

The crooner also admitted daughter Nicole (2) is ruling the roost at home.

He insisted that she's definitely not a daddy's girl, because she won't even call him "daddy".

"She is whoever-gives-her-sweets' girl," Shane said.

"She has just started calling me Shane. I don't know how I'll stop that!"

Shane Filan, 29, is married to Gillian, the cousin of band mate Kian. Their daughter Nicole Rose is nearly three and Gillian is pregnant with their second baby.

Are you still in touch with Brian [Mcfadden, Kerry Katona's ex husband?]
We're still in touch but we don't see him that regularly - maybe every three or four days months. We're not close, like we used to be, and obviously we're doing completely different things on the opposite side of the world.

Do you think Brian would ever rejoin the band?
I don't think we would ever perform with him again. I dont think he'd want to and we wouldnt want to. He made the decision to leave.

What do you think about all the press he and Kerry have been getting?
Having your marriage break up is a massive deal anyway, but to have it splashed over the papers is sore for anyone, especially when there are kids involved. Hopefully they can work everything out.

You are going to be a dad again soon.
My wife is expecting our second child in September. We don't know what we are having - we wanted a surprise. We don't mind either way.

Is Nicole a daddy's girl?
She is a 'whoever gives her sweets girl'. She's so full of life - she is an eight-year-old in a two-year-old's body. She has just started calling me Shane. She will say 'Shane, listen to me', and I'm like 'My name is Daddy!' I dont know how I'll stop that!

Well well, what can I say? Last night was the final night of the Back Home Tour 2008, which means Westlife have now gone on their well-deserved break. Their very first long break after 10 years of hard work. I must say that now the moment is actually there, it feels so surreal. No public appearances (as a band), no singles, no promotion. All of us will miss them a lot, but that's only a good thing, isn't it? It means they'll only come back with more successes and more great songs, if we all just keep believing.

But this doesn't mean it's the end of Thefilans.net. Absolutely not, on the contrary, I'm planning on making this site even better. I'm gonna add more pages, more pictures, more icons, blends and wallpapers and I'm planning on turning the entire website upside down for a major layout change. But that's still far far away as I'll have to think of what I gotta do for that and so on. But if you have any ideas for new parts of the website, don't hesitate to let me know!

But saying that, I also have to tell you that I'm gonna start working again, 3 days a week, from tomorrow on. But I hope I can still give you the important updates, if there are any. So no updates certainly doesn't mean I'm not working on this website, I am!

And last but defenitely not least, I think it's the perfect time to thank a few people.

I'd first of all like to thank all of you who have visited TF.net over the past 5 and a half years and who helped me make this site THE biggest Shane & Gillian site on the net. Thanks guys, hope there's many more years to come!

And to the girls I've met over the years, through Westlife, and who became me closest friends, Sandra, Wendy, Annette & Anita, thank you all so much for the most amazing years of my life!

Thanks to all the fans I've met on this unbelievable journey, but also to Gillian, Shane's wonderful wife. She's been a sweetheart the 2 times I met her, thanks for that!

And last but the most important, the 4 men who made this all possible, who gave me the wonderful memories of the trips I've made and the times we've stood in the freezing cold, but didn't care.. Shane, Nicky, Kian & Mark - thanks for an amazing decade and here's to another one! Keep the dream alive!
