IT'S A BOY, IT'S A BOY!

A massive congratulations to Shane and Gillian on the birth of their son, Patrick Michael Filan. And of course Nicole, who now has a little brother.

Yesterday morning (15th September at 3.40AM) Gillian gave birth to a beautiful baby boy names Patrick Michael. I hope mum & baby are doing fine.

The singer's wife Gillian gave birth to a healthy son Patrick at 3.40am yesterday - and Shane told us he was "walking on air" with joy.

The Westlife star, 29, told the Irish Daily Mirror that Gillian was rushed to Sligo General Hospital at around midnight after her waters suddenly broke.

He added: "We rushed to the hospital and then just three-and-a-half hours later she gave birth. It was a natural delivery which is what Gillian really wanted and it all went in a flash. She didn't even have much pain relief so she really did incredibly well. I am just in awe of her. It was a complete surprise to have a boy - we hadn't found out the sex in advance."

"I was sure it was going to be a girl but Gillian said it would be a boy. She was right, as always."

"He actully really does look like me around the face - but you can see Gillian in him too."

"I'm very tired but completely overjoyed. I feel so lucky and like I'm walking on air."

Shane took three-year-old daughter Nicole to visit her new baby brother yesterday afternoon.

He said: "It's going to be a great moment to see her meeting her little bro for the first time. She knew there was a baby coming but I do think the reality will really hit her now."

Shane and Gillian who wed in December 2003, have picked Michael as the newborn middle name - after Gillian's dad.

Yesterday the happy couple was bombared with messages of congratulations from their showbiz pals.

Manager Louis Walsh called from Miami while band mate Nicky Byrne, who is on holiday in Portugal, sent lovely flowers.

His other band mates Kian Egan and Mark Feehily are expected to visit the baby in the coming days and were among the first on the phone to congratulate the singer.

Shane added: "It's going to be a mad few weeks in the Filan household but it's the greatest feeling in the world."

According to Clare, who spoke to Nicky [Byrne] earlier this week, Nicky told her that Gillian is due to give birth sometime this week [week of 8th September].

Just thought I'd let you know this exciting news. It's defenitely coming close now. I bet the couple can't wait for the baby to be here.

Typically, college is really hectic this coming week with long days and a lot to do, but I'll try to bring you the news as soon as possible!

Hey guys,

You probably noticed the lack of updates on the website this week. Our last update is almost a week ago now. But school is pretty hectic already and on top of that I had computer issues the entire weekend. And I still haven't solved those. So I've been spending like every minute of my 56-hour weekend trying to install a program that I desperately need for college, without any progress. Then I noticed the program I update the website with wasn't working anymore and is no longer freeware. Which means I had to look for an alternative there as well. So all of this got me really frustrated and tired hence no updates even though the weekend is over. I'm sorry guys, I hope to be back on track sometime during the week. Let's just hope the Filan baby will help me a little. *wink*

Hey guys,

I have quite a nice picture update for you all. Downside to that is that it might be the last one in a while, as college started again today. And looking at the schedule I'm afraid I won't have much time for anything else. I will try my best to be as up-to-date as possible though!
